Creating weapons with the knowledge they had gained from making tools during their time working for the locals, the laborers formed plans and schematics. They knew the mansion’s layout, after having rebuilt it themselves, and knew that those within it were weak and unmotivated– they appeared to protect their leader, but in reality would stand aside to avoid the hard work of defending what they believed they deserved. When the day came to storm the mansion, the laborers rallied behind Wizard Bepo, their own leader; their own, far more just and fair, Bill.
Shouts in the distance, as a hoard of laborers trampled from the direction of their lodgings towards the mansion. Bill looked out his window and rallied the mansion-dwellers as well. But his charisma would only boost their confidence, not drive them to defend. He was nearly alone. The mansion doors were breached, and those inside would not fight, but would stand idly and let Wizard Bepo stroll into their home.
Bill roared through the crowd of revolutionaries and idle watchers: “Do not overstep what your kind is meant for, Bepo. Stand down and stay alive to tell the tale of your devotion to our cause, rather than giving up a secure future for more instability and war. We must move past this violence!”
“So much violence in this world has been pointless death and destruction, but our revolution is not pointless– it is necessary. Bill, you are the one who has overstepped, separating us as another kind. The people here are equals! It is you who doesn’t belong!”
The Wizard Bepo held his hands out between himself and Bill, and in an instant a spark of great energy passed from him to the man. Bill screamed, screeched, terrified of what he may become. Did death await him, or unending pain? His body contorted as the energy worked its way through his flesh, and finally, once the great light of magic had subsided, the equal people of the compound stopped their quarrels and stared at what Bill had become. A simple sheep, to be corralled to the pens Wizard Bepo had built for his people. Bill was to serve his people unendingly, and Bepo was to lead them into their futures.
